Job Role

The OSS Engineer is responsible for responsible for the Operation, Maintenance and stability of the network elements assigned to them

* Telecoms network monitoring tool for Radio, Core & VAS nodes
* Alarm reporting & filtering
* Inventory Management
* Network statistics report generation

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
* Responsible to keep the dependability performance of network resources at optimum level by
ensuring that network resource problems are detected and corrected according to agreed timing and standards set and to highlight network resource deficiencies and to some extent predict future
degradations.
* To take full responsibility for configuration changes introduced to the network and to keep the
resource, HW / SW configurations and status under control.
* To act on relevant problems escalated from the NOC surveillance function so that resource problems are remedied or escalated to corresponding system support units.
* To contribute in the creation and improvements to procedures and routines within the department /group.

Scope of Work:
To assist/support the Optimization team for the UMTS
Data fill (RNC and NodeB) – input all relevant RF and TN parameters for RNC
and NodeB (with input from Optimization team)
To work in the activation of various UMTS features (RNC, NodeB)
Run NEXPLORER in order to do parameter sanity checks for NodeB and RNC
Input all RNC and NodeB parameter changes requested by the Optimization
team
To identify if any alarms on NodeB/RNC and if present help clear them or
identify root cause
To activate and manage RNO tools (e.g. NCS, MRR)
To work in the activation of GPEH and collection of GPEH information
To activate and manage UETR, CTR and also RNC traces (optional – assist in
analyzing traces)
Initial Tuning and Optimization of the network Knowledge transfer to local
engineers.

Functional Role:  Integration Engineer, WRAN 3G RNC

Job Description:

*       Experience in RNC configuration, preparing CCR and loading XML
scripts P5 or P6
*       Experience in Integration of RNC with MGW and RXI.
*       Familiar with Iups, Iur and Iub interfaces, RANAP signaling.
*       RNC / RXI troubleshooter for hardware CPP platform.
*       Integration of Node B and migration of node B between different
RXIs.
*       Experience in OSS-RC applications ( OSS explorer, UTRAN explorer,
SMO and EMAS)
*       Experience of RNC expansion and node B reconfiguration.
*       Radio and power UTRAN parameter familiar
*       Familiar with UTRAN P5 upgrade and troubleshooting of software
errors.
*       Familiar to troubleshoot RNC /RXI and Node B faults using Moshell.
*       Moshell familiar in configuration and reconfiguration for Node B and
changing radio parameters
*       Able to work in Macca and Madina will be an advantage .

 

Requested competence:

*       The equivalent of university degree in the communication field. Have
3 years of WRAN configuration & integration experience.
*       Ability to trace and locate faults within RNC, Troubleshoot RNC, RXI
and Node B.
*       Good command of English language, oral and written. Arabic is a
plus.
*       Competence to co-operate with managers, external and internal
customers and understanding of their situation and needs.

Iklan Telkom bisa bunuh Flexy ga seh…?

Ada hal yang menggelitik akhir – akhir ini ketika saya melihat TV, pada saat jeda commercial break ada sekilas tampilan iklan dari Telkom dengan cerita seorang suami yang nelp istri nya bolak – balik putus dan ga jelas suaranya baik dari suami maupun istri nya dan di akhir cerita Telkom menyarankan pakai telp rumah yang sudah pasti tidak tergantung sinyal. Agak sedikit ironis memang, Telkom yang punya produk brand Flexy dan dari sisi qualitas network memang masih jelek terlihat masih banyak drop call (karena saya salah satu pengguna flexy juga bicara belum ada 3 menit udah bolak2 drop) sehingga se olah – olah iklan tersebut akan membunuh brand karakter sendiri dari Flexy. Flexy sendiri dari divre 2 sedang gencar – gencar nya iklan untuk pakai flexy bahkan sampai gratis sampai akhir tahun ini sesama flexy untuk meningkatkan utilitas network yang masih kecil dari kapasitas yang tersedia. Pertanyaan nya apakah Telkom sudah frustasi dengan Flexy nya sehingga berusaha mengalihkan masyarakat kembali untuk memakai fix telepon atau ada strategi lain yang sedang di bangun Flexy ???
