2 Responsibilities
The 3G RO Engineer is assigned to work on troubleshooting problematic cells / parameters tuning/ performance monitoring and improvement of the Radio Network (3G). It is the responsibility of the RO Engineer to solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed timing and standards set, to detect and highlight radio network deficiencies and to some extent predict future degradations.
” The 3G RO Engineer’s Functional Role is typically working with NodeBs to some extent RNCs.
” NodeB hardware problems are to be identified and escalated to corresponding departments (NRO, NFM, etc…).
” Also to contribute in the creation and improvements to procedures and routines within the department / group.
” The 3G RO Engineer is to take full responsibility for any changes introduced to the radio network or to any to any changes made to methods, processes or procedures, whether internal or external.
” The 3G RO Engineer category is vital in ensuring and keeping the performance of the radio network at the highest possible level by ensuring that problems / degradations are handled swiftly, and that the contracted KPI’s are fulfilled.
” The 3G RO Engineer should solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed timing and standards set.
” Provide the 3G RO Team Leader with reports of work done daily & co-operate fully.
” Attend in technical meetings responsible for NPO team activities.
” Should make creation and improvements to procedures and routines within the department / group.
3 Duties and Activities
The main activities are the following:
” Performance monitoring of NodeB RNC nodes
” Identifying and solving problematic Cells
” Perform & analyse traces on regular basis
” Analysing Drive Test log files and give recommendations
” Create and Analyse Performance Reports
” Escalate identified HW problems to corresponding departments
” Investigate sudden Radio network performance degradations

5 Technical Competence
” Very good experience in OSS RC3 tools
” Very good experience in R-PMO and TEMS visualization
” Excellent knowledge of Ericsson 3G tools (MOshell explorer, N explorer, SQL analyzer).
” Excellent experience in performing and analysing RNC traces (GPEH, UETR, CTR)
” Excellent knowledge in 3G NWS BO tool and understanding STS counters.
” Strong Ericsson Background on NodeB and RNC nodes.
” Very good experience in using Mapinfo and MCOM 3G.
” Very good experience in trouble shooting of problematic cells using Ericsson tools.
” Strong knowledge of Ericsson 3G radio features/parameters.
” Very good experience in TEMS investigation 7.0 and analysing log files.
